Nahko and Medicine for the People

Nahko (Nahkohe Parayno), a 6th generation Apache/Mohawk using a Puerto Rican/Indian mom and a Filipino dad, grew up using the family members that adopted him within an Oregon suburb, and suffered some early youth identity complications until he begun to surface himself in music, taking on the piano in age group six, and in his teenagers he gave piano lessons and directed music productions for neighborhood schools. His abilities arrived him a seasonal creation placement in Denali, Alaska, and there, using the wilderness around him, he begun to put all of the musical, ethnic, and philosophical bits of his personal innovative vision together. Viewing music as worldwide, multi-generational, and multicultural, so that as a redemptive and recovery force, he became a member of with his support group, Medication for individuals, anchored by horn participant and Berklee College of Music graduate Potential Ribner and percussionist Wish Medford.
