Muzenza

Perhaps one of the most important samba-reggae Afro blocos, Muzenza uses the shades from the Jamaican flag (green, yellow, and dark), follows the rastafari school of thought, and gives tribute to Bob Marley. They gained three consecutive situations on the annual carnival competition of Salvador BA. “Brilho e Beleza,” compiled by the bloco’s composers, was documented by Gal Costa on her behalf Gal Plural (1990). Muzenza Afro bloco was produced after a dissension in Olodum. Among the founders from the last mentioned, Geraldão, still left it to arrange Muzenza with various other associates, like Mundão, who become the visible artist of the brand new bloco, and Barabadá, who distributed the leadership.
