Mike Elliott

b. 17 July 1946, Sunderland, Britain. A previous teacher, Elliott began performing inside a trio known as the Northern Front side. He then continued to teach theatre, a skill that became useful in his carrying out career. Struggling to perform both, Elliott became a full-time performer in 1974. He offers toured the united states on numerous events, as well as the Middle East. Even more of a comedian when compared to a folk performer, Elliott however learned his art, like Billy Connolly and Jasper Carrott, by carrying out and performing traditional tracks in folk night clubs, furthermore to using his personal, highly unique, comic materials. His skill was identified by Tyne Tees tv, who, in 1981, produced some six half-hour programs starring Elliott. The series was quickly banned due to a reluctance to broadcast a number of the materials. Later, Route 4 tv transmitted another group of shows, FINALLY… It’s Mike Elliott, though it was more often than not the same materials that Elliott got useful for the previous, prohibited, series. A one-hour tv special entitled Meet up with Mike Elliott was also broadcast. Elliott later on had an individual released, ‘Makin’ Me Happy/Talkin’ Crap’, on Plastic Information, but this as well was promptly prohibited because of the usage of the term ‘shit’. A guy of obvious skill, Elliott has performed in the Cambridge Folk Event and toured with Lindisfarne and Jack port The Lad. He’s also credited being the 1st British professional designer to surface in China, defeating Wham! by two times! In addition to the periodic acting function in tv dramas, Elliott could be noticed broadcasting on north-east chat radio stations.
