Marshmallow Coast

Another branch of the Elephant 6 collective family members tree, Marshmallow Coastline was the alias of avant popster Andy Gonzales, also a satellite television person in both Of Montreal as well as the Music Tapes. Beyond an EP, The Fragrance of Credibility, along with a break up solitary with Midget & Hairs, Marshmallow Coastline was small known before the 1999 launch of the Kindercore label debut LP, Elderly people and Juniors. Released in 2001, Trip the Lightning presented users of Of Montreal because the support music group, while 2003’s Misra-released Antistar relied mainly on Gonzales and flutist Sara Kirkpatrick. State It in Slang found its way to 2006, beneath the name M Coastline, reflecting an innovative shift that presented efforts from second songwriter Derek Almstead, alongside fresh keyboardist Emily Growden and drummer Carlton Owens. Just one single year later on, the M Coastline lineup disbanded and Gonzales reverted back again to the initial Marshmallow Coastline name for his following launch 2009’s Phreak Phantasy. In 2011 they released Elderly people and Juniors Hits Back, which highlighted re-recordings from the music on Marshmallow Coast’s debut, plus a handful of brand-new tracks. Following a four-year break, they came back with 2015’s Vangelis Trips Again.
