A fantastic bop-based guitarist, Tag Elf has generated a stir along with his personal small-group recordings. He went to Berklee (1969-1971), found experience using a who’s who of contemporary mainstream jazz (including Wynton Marsalis, Clark Terry, Dizzy Gillespie, Lionel Hampton, Benny Golson, Al Gray, Branford Marsalis, and Slide Hampton), and it has recorded like a sideman with Lou Donaldson, Freddie Hubbard, Joe Henderson, Wynton Marsalis, Jon Hendricks, among others. Elf spent period with Jimmy Heath’s group, but offers achieved his very best recognition so far along with his recordings for the Jen Bay Jazz label along with a arranged documented in Chile (Alerce) offered within the U.S. His recording roster backed by Jen Bay contains: Eternal Triangle (1988), Trickynometry (1997), and On the Airwaves (2000).
