Maria Karnilova

Tony Award champion Maria Karnilova was created in 1920 in Hartford, CT, to Russian immigrant parents. As a young child, Karnilova used ballet and dance, and by age group 7 was dance at folk celebrations, before learning to be a student in the ballet college from the Metropolitan Opera.
