Manuel Rodrigues Coelho

Coelho Rodrigues was a Portuguese composer who most likely studied at Elvas Cathedral and later on at Badajoz Cathedral. He’s important not due to his service towards the Ruler of Portugal but because his compositions will be the 1st extant compositions and tabulations for key pad imprinted in Portugal. He’s known as the collection “Flores de musica pera o instrumento de tecla & harpa” consists of twenty tentos that are imitative in character, employ extended records and energetic figurations, consonant harmonies, complete chords as opposed to damaged chords and unrelated motifs between your tentos. Other functions within this collection consist of configurations for the Kyrie, Magnificat, Nunc Dimitis, the Spanish melody “Pange lingua” and tabulations for four functions by Lassus.
