Perquisite

Amsterdam-born producer and cellist Pieter Perquin began creating music as a kid, and was particularly influenced by traditional, jazz, and hip-hop. He began Unexpected Information in 2001 while he was still an adolescent, and released his instrumental debut EP, Outta Nowhere, offering saxophone improvisations by Benjamin Herman, the same 12 months. Double Vision, offering clarinetist David Kweksilber, showed up the following 12 months, mining comparable jazz/hip-hop place. Perquin created hip-hop task North Western Metropolis with some close friends in 2003, as well as the group released one EP, Expressions, before splitting. Aruba-born MC Pete Philly guested around the EP, as well as the collaboration became successful, resulting in the forming of Pete Philly & Perquisite. The duo’s Mindstate EP made an appearance on Unexpected Information in 2004, as well as the group spent more than a season documenting the full-length Brain.State LP, that was co-released by Epitaph and Unexpected in 2005, and featured a visitor appearance by Talib Kweli. The record was an instantaneous success, as well as the duo toured using a live music group across European countries, America, and South Africa. The duo earned a Zilveren Harp, a renowned Dutch music award, and received many nominations, including an MTV Western european Music Award. Remix record Remindstate made an appearance in 2007, as the group got a rest to record its following full-length. Secret Repeats found its way to Sept of 2007, and instantly topped the Dutch record graphs. The group embarked on another effective worldwide tour, received large airplay, and was nominated for many awards again, getting the Amsterdam Prize of Artwork in 2008. Perquisite and Philly went their separate methods in ’09 2009, touring one final time in October. Through the same season, Perquisite documented the soundtrack towards the film Carmen Truck Het Noorden, as well as the soundtrack was honored a Golden Leg at this year’s 2009 Dutch Film Celebration. Perquisite’s debut single album, Across, found its way to 2010, featuring visitor vocals by a number of Dutch performers, including Cato truck Dijck, Janne Schra, and Torre Florim. Perquisite started collaborating with spirit vocalist Kris Berry in 2012, resulting in full-length Lovestruck Puzzles in 2013, and considerable touring before end of 2014. Perquisite continuing scoring movies and documentaries, including several collaborations with composer/pianist SliderInc, that have been put together on 2005 launch Collected Works.
