b. Walter LeRoy Moore, 24 Sept 1914, Circleville, Ohio, USA, d. 17 August 1997. He discovered to play acoustic guitar (and later on dobro) like a young man and first caused the Yodelling Tx Cowboys, a traveling show. Within the middle-30s, he sang using the Hill Melody Males, before shifting to WRHS Charleston, as vocalist with Friend Starcher’s Mountaineers. After marrying Juanita Picklesimer (b. 1917), in 1938, he worked like a duo along with his fresh wife. For quite some time, they proved a favorite act on numerous r / c, including WHIS Bluefield and WHMN Fairmont, Western Virginia, WSVA Harrisonburg, Virginia, WROL Knoxville, Tennessee and WPAQ Support Airey, NEW YORK, before coming to WWVA Western Wheeling, in 1949, where they truly became regulars around the Wheeling Jamboree. Moore usually portrayed the cowboy picture (he even used a set of Colt revolvers on stage) but their repertoire was wide and assorted from well-known ballads and nation songs to spiritual numbers of which Juanita excelled. Their youthful child, Roger Lee Moore (b. 1940), also appeared together from an extremely early age group.
