Bárdos studied on the Budapest Academy of Music with Kodály and Siklós. He offered as a instructor in a second school with the academy being a teacher of music. The purpose of his compositional and performing career was to build up Hungarian choral lifestyle, an objective he distributed to Kodály. Toward this end he executed many choral groupings in Budapest while cultivating choral activity in rural areas. His compositions, such as the task of Bartók and Kodály, incorporate Hungarian folksong components and are types of choral writing.
