Ana Fernandez-Villaverde first gained attention over the Spanish indie circuit in 2007 when her demonstration, recorded by using Horacio Nistal beneath the name La Bien Querida (which, roughly translated, means “the well-loved”), won Mondo Sonoro magazine’s annual demonstration competition. Fernandez-Villaverde was agreed upon to Elefant Information the following calendar year, and she curved out 2008 playing a small number of concert events and focusing on the music that would show up on her behalf debut full-length. The causing record, 2009’s Romancero, made by Beef’s David Rodriguez, made up of elegant indie pop music graced using a hint of flamenco, nodded to performers like Golf club 8, Rose Melberg, and California Snow Tale.
