As the BoDeans were re-charging in 1999 and 2000, singer/songwriter and guitarist Kurt Neumann ventured from his own to create his solo debut Shy Dog. Neumann increased to prominence when he and fellow vocalist/songwriter and guitarist Sammy Llanas shaped the BoDeans in Waukesha, WI. Both, who had performed together since senior high school, became a member of with bassist Bob Griffin and drummer Man Hoffman.
