Kendrick Scott

Drummer Kendrick Scott is a technically proficient and intuitive jazz drummer having a bent toward expansive post-bop. Given birth to in Houston, Tx in 1980, Scott was raised inside a musical family members who motivated his desire for drumming from a age. An associate of his chapel and junior senior high school music ensembles, Scott ultimately attended a carrying out arts senior high school and later on the Berklee University of Music in Boston. Since graduating from Berklee in 2003, Scott offers performed with a number of name artists like the Jazz Crusaders, guitarist Pat Metheny, saxophonists Joe Lovano and Kenny Garrett, vocalist Dianne Reeves, and trumpeter Terence Blanchard. He released his debut recording along with his Oracle group entitled THE FOUNDATION, on World Tradition Music in 2006. In 2007 he performed on Blanchard’s landmark rating for movie director Spike Lee’s AN ACCOUNT of God’s Will (A Requiem for Katrina), and continuing to utilize vocalist Gretchen Parlato. Scott agreed upon to Concord in 2012 and Conviction, his sophomore work with Oracle, made an appearance in the label in March of 2013. It had been made by Derrick Hodge from the Robert Glasper Test. In 2015 he came back along with his third record with Oracle, We Will be the Drum, including an appearance by vocalist Lizz Wright.
