Michael Avery

Michael Avery’s 1st big break was as the business lead vocalist on Wrecking Crew’s the funky “Found out a Groove,” through the Pixie Dirt album for the Noises of Florida label. Additional tracks through the album that liked considerable airplay had been the title music “Opportunity to Dance,” and “Months” — both charted nationally. Avery’s early vocal impact was Russell Thompkins from the Stylistics. During his eight years with Wrecking Team, he got the chance to meet up and use Thompkins. His music profession were only available in 1974 at Farragut SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL on the western part of Chicago. His sibling and three additional young men began a male vocal group known as the First Five. They ultimately became Excellent Movement who acquired two 1981 Billboard charting singles, “FOR YOU PERSONALLY” and “Large Shot,” over the CIM label.
