Katri Ylander

Finnish vocalist Katri Ylander was a finalist — the runner-up, actually — in Idols Finland 2 and performed a broad stylistic selection of songs through the entire contest, including Diana Ross’ “HAVE YOU ANY IDEA Where YOU ARE GOING TO?,” Baccara’s “Yes Sir I COULD Boogie,” Europe’s “THE ULTIMATE Countdown,” and Avril Lavigne’s “I’m with You.” Her variations of Irina’s “Kuurupiiloa” and Stella’s “Piste” made an appearance for the Idols: Finalistit 2005 compilation. A season afterwards, she released her self-titled debut through Sony BMG. Among the album’s singles, “Onko Vielä Aikaa?,” visited number one for the Finnish Radio Best 20 chart.
