Joseph Byrd

b. Tuscon, Az, USA. Joseph Byrd researched ethnomusicology and structure before signing up for the brand new Music Workshop in LA, California. In 1967 he wanted to mix the avant garde with rock and roll by forming UNITED STATES. He also had written the set up for the name monitor on Phil Ochs’ Pleasures FROM THE Harbour. His music group split up in 1968, and Byrd shaped Joe Byrd AS WELL AS THE Field Hippies. Their debut arranged, The American Metaphysical Circus, got its name from a monitor by america Of America. Byrd got a while out for learning before re-emerging with Yankee Transcendoodle, a quirky arranged revolving around its inventor’s dexterity for the synthesizer.
