Carol Elizabeth Jones and Wayne Leva certainly are a husband-and-wife folk duo from Virginia who focus on Appalachian hill music. Not merely perform they resurrect custom, they also create originals that catch the nature of old-time music. Leva began playing your guitar when he was 11, shifting to overcome the banjo and fiddle aswell. He toured having a trio while surviving in France for four years, and used the Hellbenders and Freewill Savages as he done a PhD in French in the College or university of Virginia. Jones made a decision to learn your guitar after becoming inspired from the Coon Creek Women. She used Suzanne Edmondson as the Kentucky Warblers and with the Wildcats as well as the Wandering Ramblers. The set shaped the Renegades in 1992 and documented their first recording collectively in 1997 for Rounder. In 1998, they released Trip House (also on Rounder Information). Their 1st Copper Creek launch adopted in 2000. Leva in addition has released a single album, Memory Theater, which he takes on fiddle, acoustic guitar, and banjo. He collaborated with guitarist John Doyle on your time and effort, sketching on originals and materials that he’d discovered from such famous, old-time mentors as Tommy Jarrell, Edden Hammons, and Roscoe Holcomb. Jones offers released solo attempts aswell, and appeared for the 2001 compilation O Sister! The Women’s Bluegrass Collection.
