A talented advanced very difficult bop pianist from Canada, Juno Honor champion Jon Ballantyne attended North Tx State College or university. He debuted having a 1988 arranged for Justin Period that presented tenor saxophonist Joe Henderson. An associate of Henderson’s quartet for a while (touring Japan), Ballantyne also documented for Justin Amount of time in 1994, leading a trio. He offers since released several albums, including Known/Unfamiliar, Trio Live, Avenue Regular, Ever Since Right now, and 4tets + Dewey Redman.
