Joanna

After her debut inside a TV Tupi show, she was invited to sing in nightclubs in Rio. Her 1st LP, Nascente, was documented in 1979. Since that time, she has documented almost one recording every year. “Nos Bailes da Vida” (Milton Nascimento/Fernando Brant), contained in Chama (1981), was created specifically for her. Her structure “Decisão” was the theme from the cleaning soap opera Brilhante and “Momentos” was that of Coração Alado. Additional hits had been “Recado (Meu Namorado)” (Renato Teixeira), “Quarto de Resort,” and “Uma Mayção de Amor” (Gonzaguinha). Also extremely popular in Argentina and Portugal, she documented more commercial tunes in romantic styles like “Amanhã Talvez” and “Amor Bandido” (both by Sullivan/Massadas), dedicating a whole record to bolero in 1998 (Intimidad).
