Jenny Carson

b. Virginia Lucille Overstake, 13 January 1915, Decatur, Illinois, USA, d. 16 Dec 1978, Torrance, California, USA. Although Carson began her career being a singer, it had been being a songwriter that she produced her name in nation music. In her early teenagers, we were young in a family group with Salvation Military connections, she performed electric guitar and sang with her sisters, Evelyn (b. 20 Dec 1914, Decatur, Illinois, USA) and Judy Martin (b. Eva Alaine Overstake, 16 July 1918, Decatur, Illinois, USA, d. 17 November 1951), because the Three Small Maids. From 1931-33, these were a popular action on Chicago’s WLS Country wide Barn Dance, but disbanded when Eva wedded Crimson Foley. In 1936, after marrying Jack port Dumbald (they afterwards divorced), Carson proved helpful in Memphis until she came back to WLS in 1938. Within the 30s, as Lucille Lee, with support from Patsy Montana’s Prairie Ramblers (who documented as the Special Violet Guys), she documented some music that many regarded as well risqué. Some had been written by observed songwriter Bob Miller, who searched for anonymity by copywriting them beneath the pseudonym of Trebor Rellim. They included such quantities as ‘There’s A GUY Who INVOLVES Our House EACH DAY (Poppa RETURNS And THE PERSON GOES AWAY COMPLETELY)’, ‘Jim’s Windy Mule’ and ‘I Like My Fruits’ – a tune that is suggested being the initial gay hillbilly tune (the youthful Patsy Montana was designed to keep the studio room when this materials was documented). Another of her extremely successful music was ‘Allow Me Go Fan’. In 1955, it had been a US #1 1 both in nation and pop graphs, for Hank Snow and Joan Weber, respectively, while Ruby Murray had taken it to # 5 5 in the united kingdom pop graphs. From 1946-49, she was wedded to band head Tiny Hill but she was once again divorced. During Globe Battle II, she was perhaps one of the most prolific composers of morale-boosting music, including ‘Dear God View Over Joe’, ‘May God End up being With You Sailor Boy’ and ‘When The Guys Come Marching House’. She eventually quit her composing and retired to California, where she passed away in 1978. She was inducted in to the Nashville Songwriters’ Association International Hall Of Popularity in 1971, just the second female to get the honour (the very first becoming Cindy Walker the prior year).
