Jay Azzolina

Jay Azzolina established himself seeing that an established jazz guitarist after signing up for well-known fusion supergroup Spyro Gyro in 1989, around once he released his debut single record, Never Too Later. Before this, Azzolina proved helpful being a sideman, playing alongside such performers as Jeff Beal. His sidework was amazing, and he was starting to create a name for himself inside the jazz sector, but, a lot more than anything, his affiliation with Spyro Gyro set up him being a jazz electric guitar extraordinaire. He became a member of the music group for Viewpoint (1989), a favorite record that linked to a large nationwide market of jazz aficionados, and remained with the music group for one even more record, Fast Forwards (1990). For the time being, he previously released his debut single record, Never Too Later (1988), which he previously originally documented in wintertime 1987/1988 before signing up for Spyro Gyro. Made by Ted Macero and released by Island’s Antilles sublabel, the record showcased Azzolina’s multiple abilities as not just a guitarist but additionally also a composer. He didn’t discharge another solo record until Former Tense in 2000. Through the interim he continued to be near his family members in upstate NY, where he trained at several region colleges. Following releae of Former Tense, which highlighted efforts from saxophonist Chris Potter and bassist John Patitucci, he came back in 2002 with Live at One Place Plaza, an all-original established offering organist Gary Versace and drummer Adam Nussbaum.
