James Sutphin

b. c. 1900, USA, d. USA. A nation fiddle participant, in 1924 he teamed up with vocalist Henry Whitter, who also performed acoustic guitar and harmonica, and banjo participant John Rector. They known as themselves the Virginia Breakdowners and visited NEW YORK where they documented for OKeh Information. Little was heard about Sutphin following this date.
