Ivan Wyschnegradsky

Microtonal composer Ivan Wyschnegradsky was a pioneer in quarter-tone music. He examined music under Nicolas Sokolov and ended studying laws around once he started composing. Although his initial compositions were created in the standard chromatic program, within 3 years he followed the quarter-tone program and was notating 1/12-shades in 1919. The next calendar year, he and his family members emigrated from St. Petersburg to France. Through the early ’20s, he travelled from France to Germany several times, conference Alois Hába, amongst others. He and Hába commissioned the building of the quarter-tone piano that was built with the years’ end. Furthermore to his compositions, Wyschnegradsky released a reserve, Manuel d’harmonie ? quarts de lot, in 1932. He fulfilled up with Olivier Messiaen a couple of years later and continuing to create in the quarter-tone and 1/6-build systems for many years to arrive. Ivan Wyschnegradsky passed away at age 86 in 1979.
