Hornet Leg

Hornet Leg’s many incarnations add a four-track single task, an art-noise duo, and a punk trio, but Chris Sutton may be the man behind every version from the music group. Sutton, who also performed in rings including Dub Narcotic AUDIO SYSTEM, C.O.C.O., Spider & the Webs, and Nudity, began recording beneath the Hornet Knee name in 2003. Sutton envisioned Hornet Knee as a music group that could play anywhere, anytime and with any lineup, as well as the 1st version featured simply Sutton and his four-track. Composing and documenting when he wasn’t on tour with C.O.C.O. or Dub Narcotic AUDIO SYSTEM, Hornet Leg’s self-titled debut EP premiered on cassette by doLo Recordings in 2004. That yr, the project developed when Sutton is at a van incident, and his close friends encouraged him to create tunes on his classical guitar to monitor his recovery. Ultimately, Sutton linked to drummer Claudia Meza and bassist Joel Brazzel, who required Hornet Lower leg inside a loud punk path that culminated in 2008’s 7″ The Bloodstream Trilogy, the group’s debut work for K Information. Another lineup change led to Sutton obtaining support from drummer Robert Comitz and bassist Bob Desaulniers; this incarnation of Hornet Knee recorded the record Ribbon of Dread, which appeared via K in fall 2009.
