Harmony Rockets

For all intents and reasons, Harmony Rockets really was the brand new York-based avant-pop unit Mercury Rev in disguise; formulated with the same primary players — mainly vocalist/guitarist Jonathan Donahue and business lead guitarist Grasshopper — the medial side task allowed the group to pursue their most arcane musical suggestions to their fullest. The very first Harmony Rockets discharge, 1995’s Paralyzed Brain from the Archangel Void, was an individual 42-tiny ambient sound piece, a family portrait of the group at their most defiantly experimental; the follow-up, 1997’s Golden Solution EP, transferred in the contrary direction to provide a disco cover of the song in the movie Charlie as well as the Chocolate Factory.
