Handguns

Originally hailing from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Handguns blend the emotional earnestness of emo with upbeat pop-punk melodies. Along with rings like the Question Years as well as the Menzingers, Handguns are a part of a influx of psychologically nuanced Corrosion Belt punk rings which have tempered pop-punk’s saccharine characteristics with rawness and sincerity. Handguns self-released some EPs — their 2008 Demonstration, 2009’s MMIX EP, and 2010’s Anywhere But House — before putting your signature on on with Pure Sound Information, which released their 4th EP, Don’t Bite Your Tongue, in 2011. Angst, Handguns’ full-length debut, showed up around the label in 2012. Throughout this time around, Handguns underwent a continuing series of regular membership changes — plenty of, in fact, that this band no more has some of its founding users currently active. Presently, Handguns’ lineup includes vocalist Taylor Eby, guitarists Brandon Pagano and Kyle Vaught, bassist CJ Wilson, and drummer Ryan Pyle, most of whom made an appearance around the band’s sophomore work, Existence Lessons, in 2014.
