Guy Wood

Songwriter Guy Solid wood wrote the requirements “Shoo-Fly Pie and Apple Skillet Pandy” and “Till In that case.” The Manchester, Britain native began his music profession playing sax in dance rings. In the first ’30s, Wood relocated to the U.S., obtaining jobs using the international creation departments of Paramount Photos and Columbia Photos. In the past due ’30s and early ’40s, he was a bandleader at New York’s Arcadia Ballroom. Among Wood’s tunes, “Till After that” was a three-time pop strike: a 1944 quantity eight strike for the Mills Brothers, a 1954 quantity ten smash for the Hilltoppers, along with a 1963 quantity 20 strike for the Classics. Wood’s additional stints include composing music for the air Town Music Hall as well as the traditional CBS-TV children’s system Captain Kangeroo. At age 89, Guy Solid wood passed away in his East Hampton, NY, on Feb 23, 2001.
