Gladys Swarthout

Gladys Swarthout was most widely known as a vocalist in the classical field, but she occasionally delved into lighter popular fare. Delivered and elevated in Deepwater, MO, she was the little girl of the railroad conductor. The family members acquired at least two extremely musical kids, and Gladys and her sister Romah Lee both had taken performing lessons as girls — Gladys impressed those around her with her depth and range.
