Kaada/Patton

A collaboration between two of experimental music’s most prolific and mercurial practitioners, Kaada/Patton sees Norwegian composer and producer John Erik Kaada and Faith No Even more/Mr. Bungle/Fantômas frontman Mike Patton distilling their like of both film and music into something really unique. Mainly orchestral, with Kaada offering the sonic vistas and Patton discovering those vistas via his flexible tone of voice, the duo’s 1st outing, 2004’s Romances, drew motivation from traditional composers Gustav Mahler, Franz Liszt, and Johannes Brahms. A live recording and Dvd and blu-ray that captured the group’s 2005 overall performance at Denmark’s Roskilde Event adopted in 2007, and in 2016 they released their sophomore studio room outing, Bacterias Cult, which explored darker, even more sinister styles, while keeping the seductive and cinematic world-building of their debut.
