George Benjamin

Benjamin began composing in age nine. He analyzed in the Paris Conservatoire with Messian with Cambridge with Goehr. His orchestral piece Ringed from the Smooth Horizen (1980) brought him early acknowledgement. His reputation is continuing to grow with his carrying on attempts, including A Brain of Winter season (1981) for soprano and little orchestra and INITIALLY Light (1982), a bit for chamber ensemble.
