Gary “Biscuit” Davis

Dolly Parton’s bandleader since 2002, and co-producer of her bluegrass album, Halos & Horns, Gary “Biscuit” Davis won the Country wide Bluegrass Banjo Tournament in 1979, 1988 and 1996. His initial recording experience emerged, in 1973, when he documented an record, Playing OVER THE Moon, using a music group that he produced with keyboardist/guitarist/vocalist/manufacturer Bob Thiele, Jr., kid of important jazz manufacturer and founder from the Traveling Dutchman label, Bob Thiele. The record, which also highlighted drummer Robert Anthoine, guitarist/vocalist Tom Bailen, guitarist/bouzouki participant/vocalist Derrick Hoitsma and bassist Todd Zimmerman, didn’t achieve commercial goals as well as the group disbanded.
