Fred McMullen

A shadowy body, McMullen recorded for ARC in NY in January 1933, using immaculate bottleneck blues electric guitar, whether behind his very own vocals or with one or various other from the Atlanta guitarists Curley Weaver and Pal Moss. In addition they recorded being a trio, with Moss on harmonica. McMullen was shown only once within the 1932 Atlanta Town Directory website, and Moss preserved that he previously came back to his city of Macon, Georgia, following the program. The strength of ‘De Kalb String Gang’ (‘They whipped me plus they slashed me, forty-five all in my own side’) shows that it had been autobiographical, which he may have already been on his method home following launch from jail when he experienced the Atlanta music artists.
