Esben and the Witch

Called after a Danish story book and crafting fittingly eerie and bewitching music, Berlin via Brighton, Britain’s Esben & the Witch features guitarist/keyboardist Thomas Fisher, electronics/guitarist Daniel Copeman, and vocalist/percussionist Rachael Davies. The trio shaped in 2008 when Fisher confident Copeman to help make the music he was focusing on available to the general public, and the set drafted Davies to be their vocalist. The band’s live work drew interest, as do their self-released 2009 EP 33. Esben & the Witch performed gigs with Deerhunter, the xx, and Foals, and released the one “Lucia, On the Precipice” this year 2010. That May, they added their tune “Corridors,” from 33, as the soundtrack for an set up by designer Karl Sadler within the London release of the Makers Project. Later this year 2010, Matador Information authorized the group and released the Marching Track single that Oct; in December, it had been announced the music group made the very long list for the BBC’s Audio of 2011. That January, their debut recording, Violet Cries, showed up to crucial acclaim. Early in 2013, the group resurfaced with Clean the Sins NOT MERELY the Face, a far more refined and focused group of songs. The next 12 months, Esben & the Witch remaining Matador to create their personal label, Nostromo, and released a break up EP with Believed Forms. A FRESH Character, the band’s third studio room album, found its way to Sept 2014 and was designed by Steve Albini, who captured the raising heaviness of their concert events. A proceed to Berlin prompted further adjustments in the group’s audio on Old Terrors, a couple of four epic-length tunes incorporating metallic, prog, and post-rock released by Time of year of Mist in November 2016.
