Ed Alkalay

A singer/songwriter located in Washington, D.C., whose audio blends folk, nation, and soft rock and roll affects, Ed Alkalay was created in Mountainside, NJ, and was raised around NEW YORK. Alkalay began composing and singing music while in senior high school, and after learning English and School of thought at the School of NY at Albany, he begun to pursue a profession in music. In 1991, Alkalay started gigging around NEW YORK, and with time he discovered enthusiastic followers at Fast Folk Cafe, a place operated with the editors of Fast Folk newspaper, an audio periodical which frequently issues compilations offering new acoustic performers (their discoveries consist of Shawn Colvin, Suzanne Vega, and Tracy Chapman). Alkalay not merely landed regular areas over the Cafe’s stage, however in 1995 his melody “I Hardly ever Rode a Freight Teach” was highlighted on the compilation Compact disc New Encounters in NYC.
