Don Partridge

b. 1945, Bournemouth, Dorset, Britain. Self-styled ‘Ruler of the road Performers’, Partridge was found out busking in London’s Berwick Road market by previous Viscount Don Paul, who subsequently became his supervisor. ‘Rosie’, the vocalist’s self-penned debut solitary, was reputedly documented for the amount of £8, but became a shock UK Best 5 strike in 1968. The designer’s unconventional way of life and penchant for straight-talking led to good duplicate, and engendered higher promotion than his novelty position might otherwise recommend. ‘Blue Eye’, Partridge’s follow-up solitary, reached #3 3, the track is much less well recalled than its ebullient forerunner. The singer later on supervised The Buskers, a various-artists compilation, and loved one further graph access with ‘Breakfast time On Pluto’ in 1969. Following this short flirtation with popularity, Partridge came back to busking origins and continued to execute in to the 90s.
