Don Barrigo

b. 12 June 1906, USA, d. 4 Might 1977. A reliable tenor saxophonist, Barrigo was energetic in NY and London in the 20s and 30s. Among the performers with whom he performed and sometimes documented had been Joe Venuti and Eddie Lang. In the united kingdom, he used Nat Gonella in 1935/6 and with Al Bowlly in 1937. In 1940, he was an associate of Maurice Winnick’s dance music group alongside fellow sideman Ted Heath.
