DJ Quik

Among the leading West Coastline gangsta rap performers of the first ’90s, DJ Quik was a rapper and a maker whose career continued well in to the following decade, while he place his profession aside and began functioning primarily like a beat-maker. Given birth to David Martin Blake on January 18, 1970, in Compton, California, DJ Quik produced a name for himself around the mixtape circuit through the past due ’80s, compiling tapes also offering fellow rappers AMG, 2nd II non-e, and Hi-C. Based on these mixtapes, he was authorized to Priority Information and produced his recording debut with Quik May be the Name (1990), which he created all of the songs (as he’d on each of his single albums) furthermore to rapping. Quik May be the Name demonstrated quite effective, spawning two strikes (“Tonite,” “Given birth to and Elevated in Compton”) and heading platinum. A collaborative recording with Kurupt, BlaQKout, made an appearance in ’09 2009 using the single album The Publication of David pursuing in 2011. The Midnight Existence, another strong displaying for his Mad Research label, came 3 years afterwards, after that Rosecrans, an EP with rapper Issue, found its way to 2016. Furthermore to his single profession, DJ Quik held busy being a maker, from 1991 around the debut albums by 2nd II non-e and Hi-C. In following years he added productions to albums by AMG, 2Pac, Jermaine Dupri, Shaquille O’Neal, Xzibit, 8Ball & MJG, Talib Kweli, Jay-Z, Jadakiss, Ludacris, Snoop Dogg, Murs, and Dwele, among numerous others.
