Cookie & the Cupcakes were one of the primary to mix Cajun music with rock and roll & roll to generate the musical crossbreed referred to as swamp pop. The eight-piece music group reached its peak in 1959 when their exciting dance tune “Mathilda” reached amount 47 for the Billboard graphs. Although they eventually toured because the starting work for Jerry Lee Lewis and Excess fat Domino, Cookie & the Cupcakes mainly played within the Tx/Louisiana region, numerous shows in New Orleans resort clubs.
