Cleve White

b. 10 June 1928, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, USA. Light taught himself to try out harmonica as a young child and received his stage-name due to his fresh appearance. In the middle-50s he documented with Lightnin’ Slim and in his very own befitting J.D. ‘Jay’ Miller’s Feature label, and in 1957 for Ace Information. In 1960 he relocated to LA, California, and retired from music, although in 1970 he relocated to SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA and started to perform once again. He offers since documented for Blues Connoisseur and his personal Cherrie label, whose roster also contains J.J. Malone.
