Chris White

White colored played occasionally with Cecil Taylor even though in his early 20s. He supported vocalist Nina Simone in 1960-61, after that became a member of Dizzy Gillespie, with whom he performed from 1962-66. He documented with fellow Gillespie sideman saxophonist Wayne Moody in 1963, and caused pianist Billy Taylor in 1966. White colored has also used Eubie Blake, Earl Hines, Chick Corea, Teddy Wilson, Kenny Barron, and Mary Lou Williams, amongst others. White colored offers led his personal group, The Jazz Survivors, and used the cooperative ensemble Prism. He’s also released a single recording, The Chris White colored Project. White colored has devoted a lot of his profession to jazz education; he was the first Professional Director of NY City’s Jazzmobile task as well as the first movie director from the Institute of Jazz Research at Rutgers University or college. White colored also founded the MUSE jazz system in the Brooklyn Children’s Museum. As of this composing White colored was the Movie director of Music at Bloomfield University in NJ.
