China

In 1923, Pixinguinha and his sibling China wrote the choro “Já Te Digo” for the carnival of 1926. Pixinguinha, by itself, composed the samba “Viva a Reação.” He performed the violão (classical guitar) as well as the piano and documented several records being a vocalist for Phoenix, including his modinhas “Amei-te Tanto” and “A Lua Nova” (around the entire year 1917). Producing fun of his big foot, Sinhô composed the march “Pé De Anjo” (1919). It had been an answer for China’s lyrics for “Já Te Digo” (music by Pixinguinha). China was also an associate from the Oito Batutas, a seminal group led by Pixinguinha. Using the Batutas, China performed in Paris, France, in 1922 and toured Argentina in 1923.
