Chassol

Parisian pianist and composer Christophe Chassol devoted his lifetime to music, leading him to focus on film scores, experimental items, and also dabble within the realms of pop. At age four, Chassol was signed up for the Institut Country wide de Musique, a conservatoire in Paris, to review piano. He continued to be in the conservatoire for 16 years before shifting to America, where he went to Boston’s Berklee University of Music, graduating in 2002. Having spent years learning musical forms, Chassol’s perspective shifted alongside the introduction of YouTube in 2004; he became fixated on composing music that harmonized with actuality. Acquiring his cues from Steve Reich and Hermeto Pascoal, Chassol would trawl YouTube for videos to create music to. Eventually, he discovered himself writing Television scores, mostly French displays including Clara Sheller (2005) and Homicides (2006). Probably inevitably, he moved his skill to film ratings, writing original parts for films like the Occurrence (2011), Darktouch (2013), The Missionaries (2014), and Lamb (2015). Together with his film function, Chassol started his solo documenting career, putting your signature on to Bertrand Burgalat’s Parisian record label Tricatel in 2011. His debut single album, X-Pianos, premiered the following season. With an increase of ambition, Chassol journeyed to North India — Calcutta and Varanasi, particularly — to record his sophomore record, Indiamore. He’d record noises from both metropolitan areas and apply his prior knowledge in harmonizing with fact. On the way, he coined a name for the genre he was going after, discussing it as “ultrascore.” He’d periodically launch ultrascore compilations composed of items he’d created at various occasions, titling the task “the Ultrascore Trilogy” and liberating the very first two quantities in 2013 and 2016, respectively.
