Electronica duo A PARTICULAR Frank reunited Frank Fenstermacher and Kurt “Der Pyrolator” Dahlke, both previous people of German fresh influx pioneers Der Strategy, who have been often cited while an influence about contemporary German electronica within the vein of Mouse about Mars and Kreidler. Dahlke, furthermore, had also documented with D.A.F. and under his personal Pyrolator alias. After Der Strategy disbanded in 1992, Fenstermacher and Dahlke focused on operating their Ata Tak label for quite some time, but various creating and remixing actions got them back again to documenting in 1996, if they issued the very first A PARTICULAR Frank recording No End of No. 1998’s No one? No! was better distributed, and gained the group a global following within the electronica underground. It had been an even more eclectic outing, softening its predecessor’s techno bent with components of pop, lounge, downtempo, and trip-hop, and also a bigger cast of assisting acoustic instrumentalists. This process carried to A PARTICULAR Frank’s third recording, 2001’s Nothing at all, which featured visitor vocalists Karin Knipphals and Mai Lingani along with a live tempo portion of Pascal Plantinga (bass) and Mike Daliot (drums).
