When tradition-rooted acoustic guitarist Ian Carr met accordion participant Karen Tweed in the Shetland Folk Festival in 1990, it had been a gathering of kindred spirits. In the 10 years since, both instrumentalists possess reinterpreted the music of Britain, Scotland, Ireland, and Wales like a duo and in two folk rings — Swåp, offering Ola Bäckström and Carina Normansson of Sweden, and both Duos Quartet, that they tell Andy Slicing and Chris Real wood.
