Buzzov*en

Buzzov-en continues to be cranking out drug-fueled, misanthropic sludge punk in a variety of incarnations since their inception in 1990. Known nearly as much for his or her out-of-control and occasionally violent concert events because they are for his or her music, the music group keeps on a custom distributed by such fellow Southern troublemakers as Eyehategod and Antiseen. They will have endured many lineup adjustments and obvious breakups over time, with the only real permanent member becoming vocalist/guitarist Kirk Fisher (alternately acknowledged on albums as “Reverend Dirtkicker” or just “Kirk.”) With drummer Ashley Williamson (aka Ash and Ash Lee) and bassist Brian Hill in tow, they documented their 1st EP (Wound) and full-length (To some Frown) within the Allied label in the first to middle-’90s. Eventually putting your signature on with the even more prominent Roadrunner Information, the music group unleashed their second full-length, Sore, in 1994. (By this time around, that they had added another guitarist in Friend Apostolis, aka Friend and Little Friend.) Yet rather than garnering the sort of acknowledgement as a few of their labelmates (observe Sepultura or Dread Factory, for instance), Buzzov-en continued to be quite definitely a cult music group, carrying on to tour greatly (including a stint starting for GWAR) but eventually disintegrating before they might concern a Roadrunner follow-up. By enough time of their following full-length, 1998’s Baffled, Fisher was the only real original member remaining, with bassist/vocalist Dave “Dixie” Collins (later on of Weedeater) among the brand new recruits. Assumed to get broken up once again, Fisher and organization nonetheless returned just as before in 2001 using the long-delayed Revelation: Ill Again, this time around within the Hydrahead label.
