Blow Pops

Milwaukee quartet the Blow Pops were among the great indie power pop rings of the first ’90s, however they split up after only two albums, too early to really take advantage of the Internet-spawned growth of the underground power pop picture that began around 1995. Although they could be difficult to find because of their limited distribution, the Blow Pops’ two albums are revered by many supporters of the design. The Blow Pops produced in past due 1989 when vocalist/guitarist Mike Jarvis (once within the Chicago pop-punk music group Green) and guitarist Tim Buckley (previously of regional legends Wobble Check, rather than the past due folk-jazz vocalist) joined up with with bassist John Daniels and drummer Nick Randazzo, and released their initial single, “End!” supported with “I UNDERSTAND Nancy,” the next season. Daniels was changed in 1991 by Jack port Grain, formerly from the excellently called the Mighty Deer Lick. The quartet’s initial record, Charmed I’m Sure, arrived in the Pittsburgh garage area rock indie Obtain Hip in 1992.
