Ben + Vesper

Based in NJ, husband-and-wife indie folk duo Ben + Vesper create mild guitar- and accordion-fueled pop oddities echoing the task of the Good looking Family, Half-Handed Cloud, and Ida. After solidifying their audio on both stage and in the studio room, the former artwork school students delivered a demonstration to Danielson Famile mastermind Daniel Smith, leading to the 2006 EP Even more Questions, that was released by Smith’s personal Seems Familyre label. The duo’s 1st full-length recording, 2007’s ALL OF THIS Could Get rid of You, featured looks by regular Smith collaborators Elin and David Smith, in addition to family members friend Sufjan Stevens. Ben + Vesper caused Stevens again this year 2010, when he created, arranged, and documented their five-song LuvInIdleness EP. Twelve months later on, the duo released its second recording, HONORS, which presented appearances by the most common indie suspects (including Stevens, Danielson’s Josh Stamper, and two users of Holler, Crazy Rose!).
