Led by Australian indie pop icon Bart Cummings (Library Reports founder and person in the Pet cat’s Miaow, Hydroplane, Pencil Tin, as well as the Shapiros) and having a revolving-door lineup of similarly beloved collaborators, Bart & Friends may be the pop underground supergroup from the land RIGHT HERE. The project produced in 1998 in Ballarat, offering Cummings performing and playing electric guitar alongside bassist and longtime musical partner Andrew Withycombe; they released 10 Music About Vehicles and Young ladies. Crafting a dreamy appear to be Yo La Tengo, bittersweet just like the Go-Betweens, and delicate like Was feeling, the ensemble added Tag Monnone from the Lucksmiths and Shed & Lonesome popularity as drummer 2 yrs later to try out some displays and record the EP I HAD BEEN Lonely ‘Til I CAME ACROSS You. An innovative dried out spell and day time job obligations discovered Bart & Close friends going on prolonged hiatus thereafter, reemerging this year 2010 with lineup adjustments — Monnone got over as bassist; fellow Lucksmiths alums Louis Richter and Stanley Paulzen stepped in on acoustic guitar and drums, respectively, and Pam Berry from the famous Black Tambourine became a member of Cummings in the mike — to record the CAUSE YOU TO Blush EP that yr. Artistically reinvigorated, the group came back the following summer season, this time around with Monnone and Richter, plus Scott Stevens (Summer season Cats) posting vocal responsibilities with Cummings and Jeremy Cole (the Zebras) on drums, providing the full-length Tales using the Endings Changed.
