Aki Tsuyuko

Created in Gifu, Japan, electronic composer/visual designer Aki Tsuyuko began monitoring both electronic body organ and Nihon-buyo, a kind of Japan classical dance, at a age group. Though she desired piano to digital organ and contemporary ballet to Nihon-buyo, learning these disciplines in early stages influenced the sensitive, exact music she produced on her personal later on. Erik Satie’s function was another main impact: after finding his music as an adolescent, Tsuyuko interpreted his piano functions to electronic body organ, teaching herself structure along the way. She sent a few of her music to Nobukazu Takemura within the middle-’90s, which sparked a cooperation between your two performers. Takemura released her singles and debut full-length Ongakushitsu on his Childisc label, and Tsuyuko added vocals and keyboards to Takemura albums including Meteor and Range, and made video artwork and clay computer animation for Takemura’s concert events. 2000 also noticed the discharge of Ongakushitsu within the U.S. on Jim O’Rourke’s Moikai imprint. While her cooperation with Takemura continuing to help keep her busy with the 2000s, Tsuyuko released her second record, Hokane, that was obtainable in a limited-edition reserve structure with photos, illustrations, and poems simply by Tsuyuko, in 2006 on Thrill Jockey.
