GoGo Penguin

Experimental jazz piano trio GoGo Penguin were shaped in Manchester, England in 2012 by pianist Chris Illingworth, bassist Nick Blacka, and drummer Rob Turner. Blending melodic scenery with powerful skittering beats and digital elements, the music group produces a heady mix that owes as very much to Massive Strike and Brian Eno concerning traditional jazz or traditional. They released a set of albums for the Gondwana label, announcing themselves with 2012’s Fanfares, after that growing their sonic range with 2014’s v2.0, the last mentioned which earned them a Mercury Award nomination. In early 2015, they struck a cope with Blue Note Information and began documenting their third LP.
